Nonprofits are the lifeblood of our communities. They accomplish extraordinary things with limited resources, creating real change for those who need it most. They are often the first to step in when help is needed, and they remain long after the headlines fade.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside nonprofits to develop sustainable fundraising strategies, streamline operations, and strengthen their infrastructure. I’ve seen the challenges they face—balancing ambition with limited resources—and the incredible resilience and passion of the people behind these organizations. These individuals inspire me every day. They are relentless in their pursuit of a better world, and I’ve dedicated my career to helping them succeed.
Prior to moving to the US from Ireland, I pursued a legal career, often working with individuals with disabilities to gain fair access to supportive services. That experience profoundly shaped my perspective. I saw how critical these services were—not just for meeting immediate needs but for opening doors to long-term opportunities. It taught me that meaningful change doesn’t happen in isolation; it requires collaboration, compassion, and systems that empower people to succeed.
There’s an old Irish saying that resonates deeply with me: Ní neart go cur le chéile. It translates to “There’s no strength without unity.” For me, this is the essence of what it means to build a legacy. It’s about working together, pooling resources, and believing in the collective power of community to create something lasting and transformative.
That belief is what drove Danielle and I to launch MASON Consulting Group. We wanted to create a firm that does more than help nonprofits survive; we wanted to help them thrive. MASON is about amplifying the voices of nonprofits, connecting them to the resources they need, and empowering them to lead bold change. Whether it’s through campaign management, grants services, or nonprofit assessments, our mission is clear: to fuel big dreams, build sustainable futures, and transform legacies.
As a dad, I often reflect on the kind of world I want my boys to grow up in. I want them to know the value of hard work, to understand the importance of community, and the power of investing in something bigger than themselves. I want them to be part of a Cincinnati that is vibrant, inclusive, and thriving—a place where nonprofits are empowered to lead the charge in building a better future for everyone.
The work nonprofits do reminds me every day that change is possible, and legacy is not just about what we leave behind—it’s about what we build together.
At MASON, our legacy is your legacy. Let’s build something extraordinary.
